A serious collision investigation unit is investigating a road traffic incident involving a cycle, a motorcycle and a van. The accident happened at approximately 10am on Saturday and emergency services including Police, Fire & rescue services and paramedics were in attendance.

Motorcycle crash leaves two hospitalised

A motorcyclist and his pillion passenger have been rushed to hospital after a road traffic incident on the M6 involving a Suzuki motorbike and a Skoda Yeti. The accident happened at 9.35am and emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded quickly to reports of the road collision.

The MIA (Motorcycle Industry Association) highlight the benefits of switching to two wheels

This week is Ride to work week, which aims to encourage people to commute to work via two wheels rather than four with the aim of reducing the congestion in our cities. The MIA has publicised a Belgian Study on ‘Impact analysis of an increased share of motorcycles in commuting traffic’ and the findings make for an interesting read. According to results based on European congested roads, the findings reveal there would be a 40% drop in congested traffic if only 10% of car drivers switched their form of transport to a motorcycle.

A motorcycle rider has been taken to hospital after being involved in a crash between car and motorbike at a junction. The motorcycle collided with a Jeep just outside a busy supermarket petrol station at approximately 4.40pm.

Survey highlights motorcycle accident hotspots in the North West

A survey was carried out by a insurance company who found that, in the north west, Warrington has 2 roads in the top 10 dangerous roads for motorcyclists. The accident hotpots include the A574 and the A49 which are listed in sixth and seventh most dangerous respectively. The most dangerous road was found to be the High Peak road, the A57.
