Motorcyclist suffers leg injury after being in motorcycle accident
Emergency services received a call about a road traffic collision involving a Mini and a motorbike at approximately 9.10 am in the morning. Police and paramedic crews responded quickly to the accident scene and found a motorcyclist had been dismounted with bad injuries to his leg.
The young male motorcyclist, who is thought to be 17 years old, is reported to have received the leg injury after the Mini drove over his leg. The police secured the road to investigate how the accident happened and to allow ambulance crews to transport the motorcyclist to hospital for further treatment.
A police spokesperson said: “A Mini has been in a collision with a motorcycle and the car has driven over the rider’s leg.
“The victim is male, around 17 years of age.”
According to the Police, the motorcyclist’s injuries are not life changing and the driver of the vehicle is unharmed.
When road traffic accidents occur during rush hour, they can often be serious due to the speed of impact and the concentration of traffic.
Motorcyclist very rarely come off better when they collide with a four wheeled vehicle in a road traffic collision. The law of physics always prevail and sadly the rider is often the casualty being airlifted to hospital whilst the driver suffers minor injuries. If you have been involved in a road traffic collision either as a motorcycle rider or passenger then you may be entitled to motorcycle accident compensation.
